Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu is the fourth largest metropolitan city which is situated in eastern coastal region. It is connected with the Bay of Bengal.

Chennai is the largest city of South India with the biggest harbour and film industry. The people speak Tamil and English. Idli, Bada, Utpam and Rasham is eaten with Sambhar and chutni(paste) of coconut.
Places worth visiting in Chennai - The climate of Chennai is neither too hot and nor too cold, therefore tourists around the world visit here to enjoy with family. The places worth visiting are followings: -

*Marina beach - It is the largest sea coast in India where peoples like to spend their evening.
*B.P.J golden beach - It is also the place of great attraction for children because of tiny trains and swings.
*Saint thomas cathedral - There is an old church named Saint Thomas Cathedral it is also worth seeing.
*Temples with beautiful statues - Kapalishwar Mandir and Parthsarthi Mandi are also beautiful temples with beautiful and attractive statues.

The people of Chennai are very fond of the classical dance "Bharatnatyam". They like to dress with "Lungi-Kamiz" or "Thundu-Pawadai".

The famous Pongal festival is celebrated for three days in January here. Of course the city with specific culture, people and traditions play vital role to form an incredible India.
