Ghoomar Traditional Folk Dance Of Rajasthan

Ghoomar is a traditional Folk-dance of women which is preformed by groups Rajasthan's women in swirling robes. It is not merely a musical dance, it is expression of womanhood.

In Rajasthan this folk dance is a community based danced which is performed occasionally in which women wear colored Ghagra and +long-skirt. Generally Ghoomar is dance of Mewar in Jodhpur where Bhil tribes live.

The name "Ghoomar" has been originated with the word "Ghoomna" it means women in group moves around during performance of the dance. The colorful dance is common during weddings Holi, Diwali or other traditional occasions.

The folk dance is performed with great enthusiasm and passion. It leaves sweet imprints on mind for long times.
