Meghalaya is the wettest and most beautiful state of India which is situated in north-east region the country. According to Sanskrit Meghalaya means the abode of clouds and its literal meaning is the house of clouds. The state consists Khasi hills, Garo hills and Jaintia Hills.

Meghalaya the state of Christians - Although Hinduism, Islam followers are present in Meghalaya but 70% of the citizen are follower of Jesus Christ. It is one of the three states of India whose most of the population are Christians.

Most of Garo, khasi and hajong tribes are Christians. Only most of koch tribes follow hinduism.

*In almost every region of Meghalaya hoolock gibbons are found.
*About 650 plus species of birds are found in the forests of Meghalaya.
*Large variety of bats are found here.
*Cherrapunji at khasi hills in Meghalaya has the maximum rainfall.
*Meghalaya is bordered by Assam and Bangladesh on the north and south respectively.
*Grooms have to live with bridges in her parental house.
*It is the land of beautiful butterflies of different kids.
